About Mandawa
Mandawa is one of the important town and a tourist center in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It is a small yet busy market town, which was enclosed in the 18th century AD by the influential merchant families of the region. Location in Mandawa
Located in the region of Shekhawati, the Desert Resort Mandawa is in the midst of a stark desert landscape and 14 kilometers from the Mukundgarh Train Station. The frescoed Havelis and palaces, Castle Mandawa as well as the Open Air Art Gallery are the major attractions in Mandawa.

Best Time to Visit
Like most of the other places in north India, Mandawa too has an extreme climate. The summers can be very hot with the mercury touching 40.5°C, whereas winters can be chilly and the temperature can fall below 10°C. The best season to visit this place is winter i.e. October to March. The annual rainfall is between 45 to 60 cm. Recommended clothing is light tropical for summer and light woolen for winter.

By Air - Jaipur is the nearest airport from Mandawa and is about 168 Km away. You can reach Jaipur from cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Udaipur. Buses and taxis for Mandawa are easily available from Jaipur.

By Road - A network of roads connects Mandawa with other parts of Rajasthan and North India. You may reach Mandawa from Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner.

By Rail - Jhunjhunu is the nearest railhead from Mandawa. The station is linked to major cities like, Delhi, Bikaner and Jaipur.

Attractions
The major attractions are the Castle Mandawa and the colorful havelies painted with frescos and an arched window that overlooks the verdant garden visited by peacocks. Most importantly, the fact that no two rooms are alike in the palace here. In the zenana or women's quarters, one room offers antique murals, another has a marble fountain, and the turret room boasts of walls that are seven feet thick. Looking out from the window of the turret room, it is easy to imagine the marauding bandits that once roamed freely here. Little wonder then that the family crest contains the motto, 'Veer Bhogya Vasundhara', which translates into 'the brave shall inherit the earth.  Besides the Mandawa Fort, Mandawa there are other major tourist places nearby. There are tourist places like the Chowkhani Haveli, Bhagchandika Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli and Lakshmi Narayan Ladia Haveli and the Newtia Haveli.
