Delhi – Agra:
The trip to the most architectural and cultural city of India whose background bestows upon the unleashed past of the enormous Mughal empire begins with covering the Delhi –Agra highway. Agra, the place known for its peak of art and sainted romance render solace for every couple. It is the city that is still engulfed in the shadows of the past and used to be the capital of the Mughal emperors once. The passion of Mughals for construction provided us with some of the most adorable buildings of the world. These include Taj Mahal, an engineering marvel that took over 22 years to complete and employed over 20000 competent artificers who used their magnificent skill to embellish the white marble imposing building with both semi precious and precious stones. The Agra Fort which dwells across the Yamuna River is famous for the view of Taj Mahal as it showcases from the small octagonal tower there. This fort is semi lunar in shape and planate on the east. Sikandra, the place where the great Mughal emperor Akbar used to spend his last few days. Fatehpur Sikri, constructed by Akbar as his capital city when his son was born.
0630 to 1245 hours:
We begin with our move towards Agra through the outskirts of India. After reaching Agra, head towards Taj Mahal, to envision the seventh wonder of the world. It is the love emblem whose architectural styles and bold deeps and cuts on the face and across the monument alone defines the beauty of this wonder of the world. It was built in the 16th century by the great admirer of beauty and excellent architect Emperor Khurram or Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz after her death. This acknowledged masterpiece symmetrical structure is set amidst adorned gardens whose elegant dome is 24 meters high, and stands directly above the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. Aurangzeb erected Shah Jahan tomb next to the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. The Holy Kuran has its verses inscribed on it.
1300 to 1400 hours:
After the rattling trip of Taj Mahal, you will be escorted to Hotel Trident where you will be served cuisines from the likes of Continental, Mughlai and Italian. After a brief stay and a short nap you will continue exploring the Mughal culture.
1400 to 1500 hours
After having an opulent lunch, we head towards The Agra Fort where Shah Jahan was held captive for eight years by his own son, Aurangzeb. Though Aurangzeb was cruel but he kept Shah Jahan at a place where he can observe Taj Mahal in the form of mirage. It is built up of red sandstone and consists of halls of public and private audience, the beautiful gardens and magnificent palaces. There are numerous dainty buildings like the Moti Masjid , a white amazing mosque cognate to a perfect pearl, Diwan-e-Am, Khaas Mahal, Diwan-e-Khaas, Jahangir’s Palace, Shish Mahal and Musamman or Samman Burj-where Shahjahan remain as captive in 1666 A.D.
1500 to 1530 hours
The Agra Fort proves as a fascinating experience whosoever visits it. After having the most wondrous trip of your life and wondering about the base of these marvelous monuments that is the white marble and red sandstone. So to unreel the foundation behind these bases we proceed towards the marble factory. White marble is produced from rarely or regional contact metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, either dolomite rock or limestone. Red Sandstone is composed of rock grains or sand-size mineral .It is composed of feldspar and/or quartz.
1600 to 1630 hours
After learning a detailed overview about the magnificent marbles we begin to head towards Sikandra which combines the best of Muslim and Hindu architectures in a sterling region. The mausoleum of Akbar represents his philosophical approach and temporal outlook which tends to show the humanism and spirited attitude of Akbar. The monument was completed in 1613 A.D. by his son Jahangir and is one of the well maintained monuments. It is a splendid garden tomb where Akbar breathed his last.
After the Sikandra tour, you will be moving back to Delhi. The back journey includes some refreshment at some midway restaurant. The memorable trip ends with you being escorted to the airport by 2130 hours from where you will continue your home journey.
