Neemrana Tourism Information
Located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Neemrana is one of those towns which have always attracted the tourists for its historical importance. Situated at mere 100 kms from the Delhi International Airport, this place is Rajasthan’s closest place from Delhi and provides an easy visit of the place to the tourists. The city was named after a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo who was defeated by the Chauhans. The Chauhans however named the city of Neemrana as their third capital during their reign. Not only do the historical reasons make this city a major attraction among the tourists but also the city being a real presentation of the Rajasthani Culture is what the tourists like to see.
Neemrana Fort: - Being one of the India’s oldest heritage resorts, Neemrana Fort -Palace was built in 1464. Located on a high hillock as most of the forts are in the state of Rajasthan, this fort provides some magnificent views of the beauty surrounding it. Nowadays this heritage fort is an ideal venue for weddings and conferences. The Neemrana Fort accommodates 40 rooms which are spread at 10 levels and with all the modern facilities like bar, swimming pool, health club and indoor and outdoor games. Tourists can also enjoy adventurous sports such as mountain climbing at this heritage fort. Many of the tourists visit this place for the sheer experience that the fort provides of living in the past.
Other than the Neemrana fort, there are also many worth seeing places in this historic town which attracts the tourists very frequently. Jonaicha Khurd is a beautiful village in the heart of this town which is known for Baba Kundandas Maharaj’s Tapobhum.
There is a 16th century step well which is about 11 storied deep and was used for military reasons. One can also enjoy the camel ride in this place and interact with the locals to get familiar with the culture of North India.
