Holding the distinction of being the third largest city of Kerala, Kozhikode, which is better known as Calicut, has gained the status of being one of the most powerful urban centers of the state. In fact, according to a recent survey that was conducted, Kozhikode was ranked as the second best city of India to live in. The name Kozhikode is what its natives prefer to refer to it as.
