Famous as the Land of Looms and Lores, Kannur is a town in the state of Kerala. It lies to the east of the Arabian Sea. During the British rule in India, Kannur use to be the headquarters of the British military. It was known as Cannanore during the British reign which was its Portuguese name. It happens to be Kerala’s most urbanized city and is the second largest district of Kerala after the Ernakulam district.
