The architecture of Hawa Mahal can’t be left alone as it is one of the excellent works of Lal Chand Ustad. The Building has five storeys and the shape of it looks like a pyramid. Height of the building being fifty feet is completely supported by a podium. Pink and Red sandstone is the prominent material being used in the exterior of the building. The combination of both the type of sandstones provides an eye-catchy view to the building. City Palace is the place from where people enter into the building. As soon as they enter, they are into a courtyard which has a building being covered from sides. The top most storeys of the building are provided with a single room each. Interestingly, ladders aren’t built to reach the top storeys. Instead, a ramp has been built which was previously used to carry the royal ladies palanquin.

The entire building is made in such a way that cold puff of air pass through it. If you are moving inside the building, you’ll feel a cold atmosphere even when the sun is on the head and making the people sweat outside the Hawa Mahal. Approximately, 953 casements are used to complete the building. Each of the casements has a lattice having either pink or red sandstone as the ingredient.

As soon as you enter into the building, you’ll be amazed to know that the fusion concept was also used in the earlier times. Though the exterior would give you an impression of the elegance and rich architecture but the interior would make you sense the simplicity of the Rajput rulers. Being known as one of the building of archaeological importance, there lies an archaeological museum in the building. It is considered as the important part of Jaipur’s City Palace complex.
