The grandeur of the city of Agra is due to the presence of one of the seven wonders of the world- The Taj Mahal. It fascinates every visitor with the marvelous works done on its marble. Other places of interest in Agra include the Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, the Tomb of Akbar known as Sikandra and many others. The city of Jaipur is known as the pink city because it is painted in pink and can surprise a traveler with the charm it carries from years and years. The Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort and Birla Temple are some of the places which attract tourists the most. Traveling 500 meters away from the Jama Masjid, we come to the Red Fort or the Lal Qila. This is the place where the Indian Prime Minister hoists the Indian flag during the Independence Day. People come to see the Mumtaz Mahal, the Khas Mahal, the Rang Mahal, etc of the Red Fort.
The next place to visit is the Qutub Minar which is attached to the mosque; Quwwat-ul-Islam. The tower is built of Iron which never rusts. The first monument to be visited is obviously The Taj Mahal; one of the seven wonders of the world. It reflects the passion of love that Shah Jahan had for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. There were more than 20,000 craftsmen employed to build this beautiful piece of art which took around 22 years. The domes are very elegantly built and have some of the finest inlay work.
Then we proceed towards the Agra Fort which was build by the contribution of three famous Mughal Emperor; Akbar, Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan. This monument is build with red sandstone. Very close to this monument you will find the Ladies Bazaar where one can get goods made from fine silk and other materials.

The buildings in the city have distinctive colors which gives it the name, the pink city. To get an idea about the religious beliefs of the people of Jaipur, visit the Birla Temple. It was recently built in the year 1985 and has beautiful carvings on the walls and pillars.
